Dementia Awareness Training - FREE

Alzheimer's Society has launched an exciting new programme focused on improving the inclusion and quality of life of people with dementia. Their dementia friendly communities programme aims to support and encourage villages, towns, cities and organisations to take concrete steps towards being more inclusive and supportive of people with dementia and their families.

Dementia friendly communities are villages, towns, cities and organisations who are working to challenge misunderstandings about dementia. Dementia friendly communities seek to improve the ability of people with dementia to remain independent and have choice and control over their lives.

Dementia friendly communities have the potential to transform the quality of life of hundreds of thousands of people, supporting their independence and reducing pressure on the NHS and social care system. As more people develop dementia it also makes good business sense for organisations to be thinking about how they can become more dementia friendly.
