The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) charity is a Christian voluntary organisation, working with poor and disadvantaged people. Our goal is to fight poverty in all its forms through the practical assistance to people in need. We offer direct, personal assistance that is nonjudgemental and based on the need of the individual or family.

We are looking for volunteers to help run our food bank and charity shop from Monday – Saturday. Help is needed to stock food and pack boxes for disadvantaged people in the local community.
Community Garden Volunteer
In connection with St Vincent de Paul and Cookstown Foodbank a community garden is being created on the grounds of Holy Trinity Church, Cookstown. This communal garden is hoped to provide a relaxing and therapeutic place for people to visit. It is open to everyone to enjoy and appreciate. Due to lack of funds an appeal is being made to the community for any garden tools or equipment, plants/flowers, garden ornaments or decorative items that would contribute to the development of this space. In due course, it is hoped any vegetables harvested will be donated to the local Foodbank for distribution to those in need. If you have any appropriate unwanted items or would like to get involved with this project please let us know. All items will be considered for use and any support will be highly valued.
