Are you interested in befriending someone in the early stages of dementia?

Cookstown and Magherafelt Volunteer Centre are working in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society offering a volunteer led befriending programme to those with dementia.  It offers companionship, support and social inclusion to individuals in the early stages of dementia, helping them to maintain and develop their hobbies and interests. The effects of this are reintegration of the person with dementia into their local community, a reduction in social isolation and loneliness and an opportunity of respite for 2-4 hours per week for their carer.

If you have time to spare and want to make a difference to some living with dementia, please register here and we will follow up with as soon as possible.
